Despite their increasing clinical use, standardized classification and preparation protocols remain lacking, making their application and comparison difficult. In this review, we summarize the literature on NTH preparation methods, comparing platelet concentrates, gels, and lysates according to their preparation protocols, biological properties, and clinical practicality. Particular attention is given to differences in centrifugation techniques, cellular composition, and fibrin architecture, all of which may influence growth factor release and regenerative potential. A clearer understanding of these differences may help clinicians select the most appropriate NTH for clinical use. Further categorization and standardization are needed to optimize the use of NTHs and promote greater consensus in regenerative medicine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_members_access_role":[],"_members_access_error":""},"categories":[3185],"tags":[3303,1090,3302,3150,2545],"affiliation":[],"contributor":[3300,3294,3296,3298,3299,3301,3297,3295],"journalissue":[3194],"class_list":["post-24621","article","type-article","status-publish","hentry","category-ejmd-vol-15-n-3-sep-dec-2026","tag-biomaterials","tag-growth-factors","tag-non-transfusional-hemocomponents","tag-platelet-rich-plasma","tag-regeneration","contributor-a-fatone","contributor-f-tricca","contributor-g-ascani","contributor-g-guidone","contributor-g-scogna","contributor-r-scarano","contributor-s-a-gehrke","contributor-s-r-tari","journalissue-ejmd-2026-vol-153-sep-dec"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.7 -
