The prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) is a topical issue among dental professionals. Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), the most common disabling hand disorder, appears to have a high incidence in dental practitioners. This review critically examines the literature on CTS, focusing on its epidemiology, risk factors, diagnosis, and treatment. Preventive strategies and measures are also discussed to mitigate the risk of CTS among dental healthcare personnel. It is crucial for clinicians to possess a comprehensive understanding of ergonomics and to develop an acute awareness of their own body.
