All manuscripts submitted to the European Journal of Musculoskeletal Diseases undergo editorial assessment and peer review prior to publication.
Following initial evaluation by the Editorial Office, submissions considered suitable for the journal’s scope and standards are assigned for independent peer review.
The journal operates a double-blind peer review process in which the identities of authors and reviewers are not disclosed during evaluation.
Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and are asked to assess manuscripts according to:
- scientific quality and originality;
- methodological rigor and technical quality;
- scientific and clinical relevance;
- clarity of presentation;
- ethical standards.
Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, the editorial team may reach one of the following decisions:
- acceptance;
- minor revision;
- major revision;
- rejection.
Revised manuscripts may undergo additional editorial assessment or further peer review where appropriate.
Final publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on scientific merit, reviewer feedback, and editorial judgment.
